Blood Donation Camp at JSA Multispeciality Hospital, Ulundurpet: 25 Women Lead the Way

A blood donation camp was held on 3 November 2026 at JSA Multispeciality Hospital, Bali, near Ulundurpet. The hospital organised it together with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Kallakurichi District Branch and the Manithaneyam Kaappom Foundation. The camp was well attended, and college students turned out in strong numbers to donate blood voluntarily.

College Students Step Forward to Save Lives

The college students who came to the camp showed a real commitment to serving others. Each unit of blood donated can help save up to three lives, so the donors made a direct difference for patients who need transfusions for surgery, accidents, childbirth complications, anaemia, thalassaemia and other serious conditions.

Women Donors Make Up 75% of the Camp

Women made up most of the donors at this camp. 25 women donated blood, which is about 75% of all donors. That is unusual, because women are usually a small share of blood donors in India. Their turnout shows growing awareness and confidence among young women about giving blood, and it can encourage others to take part in future camps.

Blood Handed Over to Government Hospital, Kallakurichi

All the blood collected at the camp was handed over to the Blood Bank of Government Hospital, Kallakurichi. From there it will go to patients across the district who need it. Regular voluntary donation helps keep the blood bank stocked, especially for emergencies and for patients who need repeated transfusions.

Organisations Behind the Camp

The camp came together through cooperation between healthcare and service organisations:

• JSA Multispeciality Hospital, Bali, Ulundurpet, which hosted and organised the camp

• Indian Red Cross Society, Kallakurichi District Branch

• Manithaneyam Kaappom Foundation

Office bearers of the Indian Red Cross Society and the Manithaneyam Kaappom Foundation took part throughout the programme, guiding volunteers and encouraging donors.
