Functioning of Indian Red Cross Society – Kallakurichi District Branch.
The Indian Red Cross Society, Kallakurichi District Branch will function as a voluntary humanitarian organization, aligned with the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Its activities will be directed towards serving humanity, alleviating human suffering, and promoting health and social welfare within the district.
Humanity
The foremost guiding principle of the Kallakurichi District Branch will be Humanity — to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. Extending assistance during natural disasters, accidents, and public health emergencies. Promoting health awareness, blood donation drives, and first-aid training. Supporting vulnerable groups including the elderly, differently abled, women, and children through welfare activities. All programs will aim to safeguard life, health, and dignity without discrimination.
Impartiality
The Society will make no discrimination as to nationality, race, religion, class, or political opinions. Aid will be given solely based on need and urgency, ensuring equitable assistance across urban and rural regions of Kallakurichi district. Community outreach and disaster response teams will be trained to serve all individuals impartially.
Neutrality
To maintain the confidence of all, the branch will abstain from taking part in hostilities or political controversies. Its role will remain purely humanitarian, ensuring neutrality in every action, collaboration, and communication with government and civil bodies.
Independence
Though the Kallakurichi District Branch will work in close coordination with the District Administration, Health Department, Educational Institutions, and the Tamil Nadu State Branch, it will maintain autonomy in decision-making related to humanitarian actions.
